Office Visits

Thank you for choosing Ryan Dental. We realize that you have a choice when it comes to your oral health and we appreciate the trust you are placing in us. To help us better serve our patients, we offer the following guidelines to ensure a positive experience.

Your first visit is all about you – your comfort, your happiness, and your health.

If you are visiting our practice for the first time, we ask that you download and complete our New Patient forms to help us streamline the check-in process. If for some reason you cannot download the forms, you may arrive to your appointment 30 minutes prior to your reserved appointment time to fill them out in our office. Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your reserved appointment time:
  • Any current x-rays that you have from a previous dentist (You may request that the office forward them to our office prior to your appointment. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to your appointment.)
  • A list of medications you are presently taking
  • If you have dental insurance, please present your card upon checking in
  • Please present your government issued identification
During your first visit, we will:
  • Review your dental and medical history forms
  • Take X-rays of your teeth and mouth
  • Clean and polish your teeth, checking your teeth and gums for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis
After your checkup and teeth cleaning are complete, the doctor will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your own individual treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have.

Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile!

The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy. We understand that you have a busy schedule, so when you’re preparing to visit the dentist, please remember that your appointments can last between 45 and 90 minutes. When scheduling an appointment, please know that appointment time is reserved just for you. As a courtesy to you, other patients, and the doctor, it is important to attend every appointment at your reserved time. IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all visits.

Other Essential Appointment Information

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow us to comfortably sign you in and cover the new forms that will be required at every visit, as well as verify your insurance information. In the event that you are unable to keep your reserved appointment, we ask that you provide at least a 48 hour notice. We understand that sometimes emergencies arise. If you cannot provide 48 hours notice because of an emergency, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible of your cancellation. We also understand that sometimes you may not be able to make it to your reserved appointment on time. Please call our office to notify us of your intended arrival. In the interest of providing quality care to other patients as well as you, we may not be able to honor appointments if you are more than 15 minutes late. There are times when it becomes necessary for the doctors to spend more time with a patient than scheduled. This can be a result of accomadating an emergency patient or due to the undpredicatable nature of certain dental procedures. In an attempt to provide complete care, the doctor may run behind schedule. Our staff makes every possible effort to keep you informed when this happens. We ask for your patience in these situations. After all, you would want the doctor to take the necessary time when your treatment is in progress. We believe that you should be an active participant in your health care plan. If at any time you have a questions or concerns, our highly trained staff would be glad to assist you. Thank you again for choosing Ryan Dental and we look forward to you becoming a part of our dental family.
