What are my options for dentures?

Our office provides full and partial dentures as well as overdentures, which are full dentures that attach to dental implants.

Partial dentures are used to replace a few missing teeth on the same arch. They easily clip onto the surrounding teeth and are less invasive than alternative restorative options like bridges and implants.

Full dentures are used to replace an entire arch of teeth at once. This can be all of the top teeth, bottom teeth, or all of the teeth. Traditional full dentures rest on top of the gums, and denture adhesive can be used to stabilize them.

Is it hard to eat with dentures?

When you first get your dentures, you may find that there is a learning curve when it comes to eating with them. We recommend starting out with soft foods that require minimal to no chewing, especially if you had any teeth extracted before getting your custom dentures. Once you get comfortable with that, you can try cutting up tougher foods into small pieces and chewing them with your back teeth. Eventually, eating with dentures should become second nature, and you won’t even have to think twice about eating!

Which restorative option is right for my smile?

The best choice for you will depend on a few different factors, like your needs, preferences, budget, oral health, and lifestyle, and we recommend scheduling a consultation with your dentist to discuss your treatment plan. Dentures can be a great option for patients who are not candidates for dental implants or patients who do not want to alter or remove healthy teeth or undergo oral surgery. If you have any questions or concerns about financing the cost of your dentures, our office can assist you with that as well.
